A day in the life of our Melbourne Social Media Agency

What’s it like working in our social media agency (or working with us)? We thought it might be fun to share a glimpse behind the scenes and let you know what we actually do day-to-day.

OK, we have to be honest, when we started writing this blog post, we intended to just cover a single day, but then we got all excited to share a few different things. So it became more of a week in the life of a social media agency. Here are some of the highlights of the last few days.

A day in the life of our social media agency

The boss came back

First of all, Monday was our founder Natalie’s first day back in the office after a much needed family vacay to Fiji. We spent Monday catching up as a team and making sure all client work was on track after her break. Mondays are usually our only office day at The Meaningful Social Club. It’s our day to have some face-to-face time and collaborate on ideas and upcoming projects.

We also like to film a few TikTok videos while we are together in the office to keep our account active. We love sharing tips and case studies, so be sure to follow us!

Wrapping up our podcast with Shequal

You may have already seen a little about our exciting podcast project with Women’s Health Victoria and Shequal. We’ve been working our little butts off to get the episodes edited. We’re also working on our comms plan and scheduling social media content and ads to support the podcast launch. This has been a mammoth team effort and we’re so excited to see it launching really really soon!

Client social media content shoots

With so many inspiring clients to support, we’re always out shooting some kind of social media content! This week so far, we’ve had three photo and video shoots (told you we were busy!); one for Bellamy’s Organic, one for Artbid, and one for Melbourne Cocktail Festival. Our team prides ourselves on delivering a full service social media experience. One that starts with social media strategy, continues to content creation, and finishes with posting, community management and reporting!

The exciting thing is that each of these shoots were so different, which definitely keeps us on our toes. As there are multiple platforms to create content for (Instagram, TikTok etc.) the format of the videos we capture can really vary. We tend to do more UGC, informal style content for our TikTok clients, whereas our Instagram clients are much more polished for Reels. And for the clients where we service both platforms, that means we need to shoot both!

Although these shoots are hard work, both mentally and physically, we absolutely love doing them. This is what it’s really all about: connecting with clients and finding creative ways to showcase what they’re all about to their audience.

What will the rest of the week look like?

After all this hard work creating content, most of the end of the week will be spent editing photos and videos, as well as managing content calendars. When you’re a social media manager, there is always such a variety of tasks that need to be done. People often say that social media managers are “unicorns” and we very much agree that is the case with our talented team. As a small, boutique agency, we really do need to be all hands on deck.

Part of being able to provide a value for money service is not having bloated teams. Each of our team members are multi-talented, whether they need to be shooting a TikTok, creating a strategy, or running social media ads.

Want to work with or for us?
